בִּבְכִ֣י יָבֹ֗אוּ וּֽבְתַחֲנוּנִים֮ אֽוֹבִילֵם֒ אֽוֹלִיכֵם֙ אֶל־נַ֣חֲלֵי מַ֔יִם בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יָשָׁ֔ר לֹ֥א יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ בָּ֑הּ כִּֽי־הָיִ֤יתִי לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְאָ֔ב וְאֶפְרַ֖יִם בְּכֹ֥רִי הֽוּא׃ (ס)
מיט געװײן װעלן זײ קומען, און מיט לײַטזעליקײט װעל איך זײ ברענגען; איך װעל זײ פֿירן בײַ טײַכן װאַסער, אױף אַ װעג אַ גלײַכן װאָס זײ װעלן דרין ניט געשטרױכלט װערן; װאָרום איך בין אַ פֿאָטער צו ישׂפֿאל, און אפֿרים, ער איז מײַן בכָור.
Targum Jonathan
When they were exiled, weeping, it was plain that they would return from their exile. With great mercy I will bring them near; I will guide them by streams of water, on a straight road upon which they will not stumble; because My command has been to Israel as a father, and Ephraim is dear to Me.
