סָ֣רוּ מַהֵ֗ר מִן־הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתִ֔ם עָשׂ֣וּ לָהֶ֔ם עֵ֖גֶל מַסֵּכָ֑ה וַיִּשְׁתַּֽחֲווּ־לוֹ֙ וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־ל֔וֹ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ אֵ֤לֶּה אֱלֹהֶ֙יךָ֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶֽעֱל֖וּךָ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
זײ האָבן זיך גיך אָפּגעקערט פֿון דעם װעג װאָס איך האָב זײ באַפֿױלן; זײ האָבן זיך געמאַכט אַ געגאָסן קאַלב, און האָבן זיך געבוקט צו אים, און געשלאַכט צו אים, און געזאָגט: דאָס איז דײַן גאָט, ישׂראל, װאָס האָט דיך אױפֿגעבראַכט פֿון לאַנד מִצרַיִם.
Targum Jonathan
quickly have they declined from the way which I taught them in Sinai, (that) ye shall not make yourselves image, or figure, or any similitude; for now have they made to them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and sacrificed to it, and proclaimed before it, These are thy gods, Israel, which brought thee up from the land of Mizraim.
