וָאַ֖עַן וָאֹמַ֣ר אֵלָ֑יו מַה־שְּׁנֵ֤י הַזֵּיתִים֙ הָאֵ֔לֶה עַל־יְמִ֥ין הַמְּנוֹרָ֖ה וְעַל־שְׂמֹאולָֽהּ׃
Da antwortete ich und sprach zu ihm: 'Was sind diese beiden Olivenbäume auf der rechten Seite des Kerzenhalters und auf der linken Seite davon?'

What are these two olive trees? What do they symbolize, and what do the two olive branches (troches in Old French) symbolize? [They are] a cluster of olives on a branch, as if a type of ear of grain.
