וַאֲשֶׁר֩ הָיָ֨ה נַעֲשֶׂ֜ה לְי֣וֹם אֶחָ֗ד שׁ֣וֹר אֶחָ֞ד צֹ֠אן שֵׁשׁ־בְּרֻר֤וֹת וְצִפֳּרִים֙ נַֽעֲשׂוּ־לִ֔י וּבֵ֨ין עֲשֶׂ֧רֶת יָמִ֛ים בְּכָל־יַ֖יִן לְהַרְבֵּ֑ה וְעִם־זֶ֗ה לֶ֤חֶם הַפֶּחָה֙ לֹ֣א בִקַּ֔שְׁתִּי כִּֽי־כָֽבְדָ֥ה הָעֲבֹדָ֖ה עַל־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּֽה׃
Auf einen Tag wurde zubereitet: Ein Ochse, sechs auserlesene Schafe, auch Vögel wurden mir zubereitet, und alle zehn Tage allerlei Wein in Fülle; und bei dem verlangte ich nicht die Kost des Landpflegers weil der Dienst ohnehin schwer lag auf diesem Volke.
Nehemiah
and to bring the first of our dough and our tithes and the fruit of every tree, wine and oil, to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our G-d, and (to bring) the tithe of our land to the Levites, the Levites who take their tithes in all the cities of our work [(in Eretz Israel)].
