תְּשֻׁא֣וֹת ׀ מְלֵאָ֗ה עִ֚יר הֽוֹמִיָּ֔ה קִרְיָ֖ה עַלִּיזָ֑ה חֲלָלַ֙יִךְ֙ לֹ֣א חַלְלֵי־חֶ֔רֶב וְלֹ֖א מֵתֵ֥י מִלְחָמָֽה׃
[Ehemals warst du] voll Geräusches, eine tobende Stadt, ein fröhlicher Markt; [jetzt herrscht Bestürzung], obwohl deine Mannschaft nicht durch das Schwert umgekommen und nicht im Kriege gefallen ist.
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
On account of the tumult wherewith the praiseworthy, the fortified, the joyous city is filled. Thy slain were not slain by the sword, neither did they die in battle.
