תְּשֻׁא֣וֹת ׀ מְלֵאָ֗ה עִ֚יר הֽוֹמִיָּ֔ה קִרְיָ֖ה עַלִּיזָ֑ה חֲלָלַ֙יִךְ֙ לֹ֣א חַלְלֵי־חֶ֔רֶב וְלֹ֖א מֵתֵ֥י מִלְחָמָֽה׃

[Ehemals warst du] voll Geräusches, eine tobende Stadt, ein fröhlicher Markt; [jetzt herrscht Bestürzung], obwohl deine Mannschaft nicht durch das Schwert umgekommen und nicht im Kriege gefallen ist.
