יֻחַ֤ן רָשָׁע֙ בַּל־לָמַ֣ד צֶ֔דֶק בְּאֶ֥רֶץ נְכֹח֖וֹת יְעַוֵּ֑ל וּבַל־יִרְאֶ֖ה גֵּא֥וּת יְהוָֽה׃ (ס)
Wird aber der Bösewicht geschont, so lernt er nicht Gerechtigkeit, er frevelt vielmehr im Lande der Gradheit, [wenn ihm alles gelingt], und sieht nicht die Majestät des Herrn.
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
Thou hast granted unto the wicked continuance, that verily they should return to the law; but they did not return, all the days that they lived ;—that they should practise truth in the earth, but they dealt falsely: yea, they will not regard the praise of thy glory, O Lord!
