וְחִכִּ֙יתִי֙ לַיהוָ֔ה הַמַּסְתִּ֥יר פָּנָ֖יו מִבֵּ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְקִוֵּ֖יתִֽי־לֽוֹ׃
Und blickt zur Erde, überall sieht er Drangsal und Finsternis, finstere Bedrängnis und weite Dunkelheit.
Targum Jonathan on Isaiah
The prophet said, On account of this I prayed before the Lord, who has said that he would take away His Shekinah from the house of Jacob, and I intreated before Him.
