וַתִּירֶ֤אןָ הַֽמְיַלְּדֹת֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים וְלֹ֣א עָשׂ֔וּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר דִּבֶּ֥ר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ן מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרָ֑יִם וַתְּחַיֶּ֖יןָ אֶת־הַיְלָדִֽים׃
Doch die Hebammen fürchteten Gott und taten nicht, wie der König von Ägypten ihnen anbefohlen, und erhielten auch die Knaben am Leben.
Targum Jonathan on Exodus
But the midwives feared before the Lord, and would not do according to what the king of Mizraim had said to them, but they saved the children.
