כִּֽי־תֵצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ וּמָצְאָ֤ה קֹצִים֙ וְנֶאֱכַ֣ל גָּדִ֔ישׁ א֥וֹ הַקָּמָ֖ה א֣וֹ הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה שַׁלֵּ֣ם יְשַׁלֵּ֔ם הַמַּבְעִ֖ר אֶת־הַבְּעֵרָֽה׃ (ס)
Wenn Feuer ausbricht und Dornen ergreift, und es wird verzehrt ein Garbenhaufen oder die Saat oder das Feld, so muß der [den Schaden] bezahlen, der den Brand angestiftet.
Targum Jonathan on Exodus
If fire break out, and catch thorns, and consume the sheaves, or whatever is standing, or the field, whoever kindled the fire shall surely restore.
