יְשַׁלַּ֬ח בָּהֶ֣ם עָ֭רֹב וַיֹּאכְלֵ֑ם וּ֝צְפַרְדֵּ֗עַ וַתַּשְׁחִיתֵֽם׃
Dia mengirimkan ke tengah-tengah mereka kawanan berbagai binatang buas yang melahap mereka, dan katak-katak yang membinasakan mereka.
Midrash BeChiddush
5. מִ֝שְׁלַ֗חַת מַלְאֲכֵ֥י רָעִֽים “A band of deadly messengers,” (Ps. 78:49) The frogs castrated the Egyptians, as Asaf wrote, “He inflicted upon them swarms of insects to devour them, frogs to destroy them.” (Ps. 78:45) Rashi explains this verse: “They would pull off their testicles.” (Rashi ad locum) This is from the Midrash which Rabbi Yochanan said: Any place the Egyptians rested, frogs appeared. Did they actually appear in houses of alabaster or bricks? Rabbi Ishmael ben Yossi said to him: this is one of the few times where the soft ruled over the hard. The frogs would come up (to the walls) and say, “I am the emissary of the Holy One,” and the alabaster would crack open and the frogs would come up, as is stated, “frogs to destroy them.” (Ps. Ibid) As is written elsewhere in Scripture, “for they are mutilated, they have a defect.” (Lev. 22:25)149This verse in Leviticus is speaking about castration or damage to the genitals - the same verb is used here.
It is helpful to clarify here - how could the alabaster be broken open before the frogs since God does not change the nature of the world without reason. But when God comes down to perform a miracle, we are obligated to magnify Him as much as possible.150In other words, it is OK to over exaggerate when speaking of God’s miracles! But here Scripture proves their word. It is written, “And they shall come up and enter your house…” (Ex. 7:28) “Come up,” must mean from below to above. “In your house,” must mean, into the bed chamber of Pharaoh. Certainly the house of Pharaoh was made of alabaster, and if so it must be that the floor broke open before the frogs so that they could go up.

Ibn Ezra
יחליץ Some declare it to be hap. leg., and explain it he will make fat; others render it he will strengthen, comparing it with חלוצי armed (Num. 31:5); others still think that יַחֲלִיץ and יְחַלֵּץ he delivereth (Job 36:15) are the same in meaning;13aThe Hebrew text has the Kal יחלוץ; but from the other instances quoted, which are Piёl and Hiphil, it may be inferred that the Piёl יְחַלֵּץ was here intended by I. E. as is the case with יַשְׁלִיחַ (Ex. 8:17) and יְשַׁלַּח he sendeth (Ps. 78:45), with יַשְֹמִיחַ (Ps. 89:43), and יְשַֹמַּח he gladdeneth (Lam. 2:17). This latter explanation is right; comp. He keepeth all his bones, not one of them is broken (Ps. 34:21);
Rashbam
וישלחנו, although in other instances when the word שלח is used it never has a dagesh, reinforcing it, here, seeing the dispatch of these angels was not in order to assist, but in order to destroy, this is indicated by the change in the mode and reinforcing the word with the dot in the letter ל. We find another example of this construction in a similar context in Deut. 32,24, ושן בהמות אשלח בם, “the teeth of beasts I will set loose against them,” where the verb שלח is also used destructively. The same is true of Psalms 78,45, ישלח בהם ערב “He dispatched ferocious beasts against them.”
