לָשׂ֣וּם ׀ לַאֲבֵלֵ֣י צִיּ֗וֹן לָתֵת֩ לָהֶ֨ם פְּאֵ֜ר תַּ֣חַת אֵ֗פֶר שֶׁ֤מֶן שָׂשׂוֹן֙ תַּ֣חַת אֵ֔בֶל מַעֲטֵ֣ה תְהִלָּ֔ה תַּ֖חַת ר֣וּחַ כֵּהָ֑ה וְקֹרָ֤א לָהֶם֙ אֵילֵ֣י הַצֶּ֔דֶק מַטַּ֥ע יְהוָ֖ה לְהִתְפָּאֵֽר׃
untuk menetapkan bagi orang-orang yang berkabung di Sion, untuk memberikan kepada mereka hiasan kepala sebagai ganti abu, minyak kegirangan sebagai ganti perkabungan, jubah pujian sebagai ganti semangat yang lesu; dan mereka akan disebut pohon-pohon kebenaran, tanaman Yang Mahakekal, supaya Ia dimuliakan.
Taanit
"Our brothers, it is not sackcloth and fasting (that) cause (God to forgive sins). Rather, repentance and good deeds cause (God to forgive). Thus we find with the people of Nineveh, as it was not said about them: 'And God saw their sackcloth and fasting,' but rather, 'And God Saw their deeds, for they had turned from their evil way' (Jonah 3:10).
