וַיַּחְתְּר֣וּ הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים לְהָשִׁ֛יב אֶל־הַיַּבָּשָׁ֖ה וְלֹ֣א יָכֹ֑לוּ כִּ֣י הַיָּ֔ם הוֹלֵ֥ךְ וְסֹעֵ֖ר עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
Namun orang-orang itu berusaha keras mendayung untuk membawa kapal itu kembali ke daratan, tetapi mereka tidak sanggup, sebab laut makin lama makin bergelora menyerang mereka.

And the men sailed about to come to dry land, but they could not, because the sea was going and its cyclone was strengthening upon them.
