וַתֵּצֵ֨א אֵ֜שׁ מִמַּטֵּ֤ה בַדֶּ֙יהָ֙ פִּרְיָ֣הּ אָכָ֔לָה וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה בָ֛הּ מַטֵּה־עֹ֖ז שֵׁ֣בֶט לִמְשׁ֑וֹל קִ֥ינָה הִ֖יא וַתְּהִ֥י לְקִינָֽה׃ (פ)
E il fuoco è uscito dalla verga dei suoi rami, ha divorato il suo frutto, in modo che non ci sia in lei una verga forte per essere uno scettro da governare.' Questo è un lamento, ed era per un lamento.
