עַל־כֵּ֥ן אָמַ֛רְתִּי שְׁע֥וּ מִנִּ֖י אֲמָרֵ֣ר בַּבֶּ֑כִי אַל־תָּאִ֣יצוּ לְנַֽחֲמֵ֔נִי עַל־שֹׁ֖ד בַּת־עַמִּֽי׃

Pertanto ho detto: 'Distogli lo sguardo, piangerò amaramente; Sforzati di non confortarmi, per la distruzione della figlia del mio popolo.'

אמרר בבכי I will embitter by weeping.3A. V., I will weep bitterly. According to I. E., the Piel of מרר is causative, and the object השמעים the bitterness, is to be supplied here. I will embitter those that listen.
