הֲכַיּוֹצֵ֨ר הַזֶּ֜ה לֹא־אוּכַ֨ל לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת לָכֶ֛ם בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה הִנֵּ֤ה כַחֹ֙מֶר֙ בְּיַ֣ד הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר כֵּן־אַתֶּ֥ם בְּיָדִ֖י בֵּ֥ית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (ס)
'O casa d'Israele, non posso fare con te come questo vasaio? dice l'Eterno. Ecco, come l'argilla nel vasaio's mano, così siete nella mia mano, o casa d'Israele.

Can I (Hashem) not do with you (Jews) like the potter does with the clay? He makes from it a different vessel after he has destroyed the first.
