וַאֲנִי־בָ֗אתִי בֵּ֣ית שְֽׁמַֽעְיָ֧ה בֶן־דְּלָיָ֛ה בֶּן־מְהֵֽיטַבְאֵ֖ל וְה֣וּא עָצ֑וּר וַיֹּ֡אמֶר נִוָּעֵד֩ אֶל־בֵּ֨ית הָאֱלֹהִ֜ים אֶל־תּ֣וֹךְ הַֽהֵיכָ֗ל וְנִסְגְּרָה֙ דַּלְת֣וֹת הַהֵיכָ֔ל כִּ֚י בָּאִ֣ים לְהָרְגֶ֔ךָ וְלַ֖יְלָה בָּאִ֥ים לְהָרְגֶֽךָ׃
E per quanto mi riguarda, andai nella casa di Semaia, figlio di Delaia, figlio di Mehetabel, che fu rinchiuso; e lui ha detto:'Incontriamoci nella casa di Dio, all'interno del tempio, e chiudiamo le porte del tempio; poiché verranno per ucciderti; sì, nella notte verranno per ucciderti.'
