לָכֵ֣ן חַי־אָ֡נִי נְאֻם֩ יְהוָ֨ה צְבָא֜וֹת אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל כִּֽי־מוֹאָ֞ב כִּסְדֹ֤ם תִּֽהְיֶה֙ וּבְנֵ֤י עַמּוֹן֙ כַּֽעֲמֹרָ֔ה מִמְשַׁ֥ק חָר֛וּל וּמִכְרֵה־מֶ֥לַח וּשְׁמָמָ֖ה עַד־עוֹלָ֑ם שְׁאֵרִ֤ית עַמִּי֙ יְבָזּ֔וּם וְיֶ֥תֶר גוי [גּוֹיִ֖י] יִנְחָלֽוּם׃
Perciò mentre vivo, dice l'Eterno degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Sicuramente Moab sarà come Sodoma, e i figli di Ammon come Gomorra, persino il luogo di riproduzione delle ortiche e delle saline, e una desolazione per sempre; Il residuo del mio popolo li rovinerà e il resto della mia nazione li erediterà.
