Talmud su Deuteronomio 24:5

MISHNAH: But the following do not leave at all²⁰¹They do not join the army even to the border, even though the verse mentions only the newly-wed.: If he built a house and inaugurated it, planted a vineyard and redeemed it, he who married his preliminarily married spouse, he who took in his sister-in-law, for it is said²⁰²Deut. 24:5: If a man take a new wife, he shall not go out with the army, nor should anything be imposed on him; free for his house he shall be for one year and give pleasure to his wife whom he took.: “Free he shall be for his house for one year”. “His house”, that is his house; “shall be”, that is his vineyard; “and give pleasure to his wife”, that is his wife; “whom he took”, to include his sister-in-law²⁰³The same text in Sifry Deut. 271.. These do not provide food and water and do not improve the roads.

HALAKHAH: “If he built a house and inaugurated it,” but did not use it for twelve months. “If he planted a vineyard and redeemed it,” but did not use it for twelve months. And all are derived from the wife: Since the wife needs twelve months, also all of them need twelve months. It was stated: All those mentioned remain unoccupied in town, [do not pay city taxes], and do not provide food and water nor improve the roads, as it is said²⁰²Deut. 24:5: If a man take a new wife, he shall not go out with the army, nor should anything be imposed on him; free for his house he shall be for one year and give pleasure to his wife whom he took.: “nor should anything be imposed on him,” but it may be imposed on others²⁰⁵In the opinon of the Babli, 44a, and Sifry Deut. 271, people preliminarily but not finally married, etc. Following the Genizah fragment, this would include people gainfully employed in the first year of their marriage, etc..
