이러므로 감독하는 자가 그들에게 분정된 진미와 마실 포도주를 제하고 채식을 주니라
Ibn Ezra
[Daniel 1:16] Vayehi... nosei (וַיְהִי... נֹשֵׂא - And it was... removing): [Meaning the guard/Meltsar] took it upon himself (be-nafsho - בְּנַפְשׁוֹ) [to consistently remove their royal rations]. And that which he [Daniel] was brief in mentioning [i.e., omitted mentioning] the wine [in Daniel 1:13], he [the guard, acting, or the text, describing] mentioned it now. And the Nun [element] of legumes (zeronim - זֵרְעֹנִים) is additional [forming the -on suffix before the plural ending, rather than the simpler plural zera'im (זְרָעִים)]. Like [the K'tiv (written form) in Psalms 123:4] le-ga’yonim (לגאיונים - referring to 'the haughty'), and many [words] are like them [formed with such additional elements].
