에스겔 43:2의 Halakhah

The author of this book who dealt with piety, humility and fear of the Lord in separate treatises, said, “I perceived for myself, and from my teachers I received understanding and instruction. It is proper for all those that fear the Lord to teach their children, students and all Israel how they can succeed in doing the will of our Creator, may His name be blessed and His fame be exalted.” His style is that of the allegory, comparing the Lord to the ways of mortals in order to reach the hearts of humans, to speak to them in their accustomed manner of hearing, to open the eyes of the blind and to enlighten uncircumcized hearts. And this is recorded in the Bible, “And His voice was like the sound of many waters” (Ezek. 43:2); “The Lord shall roar like a lion” (Hos. 11:10). He also likens His image to that of His creatures: “His eyes are like doves” (Cant. 5:12); and there are many other such examples: “His legs are as pillars of marble” (Cant. 5:15). All this is done in order to address them in their accustomed manner of hearing.
