잠언 28:33의 Liturgy

We beseech You, pardon those who admit and abandon their ways³⁷The phrase is based upon the verse in Mishlei 28:13, that one who confesses and leaves his wrongdoing will be looked upon mercifully. as is Your custom³⁸You promised to forgive those who repent as it is stated. “Let the sinner leave his way etc.”—Mateh Levi Iniquity and rebellion forgive for the sake of Your Name.³⁹This is an important theme in the Yom Kippur prayers. It is based on Moshe Rabbeinu’s prayer to Hashem after the sin of the calf.

I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I have not hid. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”; and You did forgive the iniquity of my sin. Selah. (Psalms 32:5) He who covers up his faults will not succeed; but he who confesses and gives [them] up will find mercy. (Proverbs 28:13)
