אֲשֶׁר֩ נָתַ֨ן הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ לַיְּהוּדִ֣ים ׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּכָל־עִיר־וָעִ֗יר לְהִקָּהֵל֮ וְלַעֲמֹ֣ד עַל־נַפְשָׁם֒ לְהַשְׁמִיד֩ וְלַהֲרֹ֨ג וּלְאַבֵּ֜ד אֶת־כָּל־חֵ֨יל עַ֧ם וּמְדִינָ֛ה הַצָּרִ֥ים אֹתָ֖ם טַ֣ף וְנָשִׁ֑ים וּשְׁלָלָ֖ם לָבֽוֹז׃
Onde o rei concedeu aos Yehudim que estavam em cada cidade o direito de se reunirem e defenderem suas vidas, para destruir, matar* (nas megilot ashkenazic: matar) e aniquilar toda força armada do povo e província que os ameaçasse, crianças e mulheres, e tomar seus bens como despojo.

And the letters were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces; to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all of the Jews, young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, and to plunder their spoils.
