רָאִ֨יתִי אֶת־אֲדֹנָ֜י נִצָּ֣ב עַֽל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ וַיֹּאמֶר֩ הַ֨ךְ הַכַּפְתּ֜וֹר וְיִרְעֲשׁ֣וּ הַסִּפִּ֗ים וּבְצַ֙עַם֙ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ כֻּלָּ֔ם וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖ם בַּחֶ֣רֶב אֶהֱרֹ֑ג לֹֽא־יָנ֤וּס לָהֶם֙ נָ֔ס וְלֹֽא־יִמָּלֵ֥ט לָהֶ֖ם פָּלִֽיט׃
Nakita ko ang Panginoon na nakatayo sa ibabaw ng altar, at Kanyang sinabi: “Hampasin mo ang kapitel sa itaas upang mayanig ang mga pasukan, at durugin mo sila sa ulo nilang lahat; at ang nalalabi sa kanila ay papatayin Ko sa pamamagitan ng tabak. Walang sinuman sa kanila ang makatatakas, at walang sinuman sa kanila ang makaliligtas.”

In other words, each plague-Makah-מכה was brought about through the quality of Koh-כה, and in truth, each plague constituted five plagues, as that is the decree of judgment.227See Haggadah Shel Pesach, section on the ten plagues. It therefore was this Divine quality itself through which the plague of the death of the firstborn was wrought, being that the god of Egypt is like the firstborn of all the other heavenly ministers of the nations, and as written,228Amos 9:1 “Strike the main beam and the side posts will quake.”
