Sapagkat narito, lilikha Ako ng mga bagong langit at ng isang bagong lupa; ang mga dating bagay ay hindi na aalalahanin, ni sasagi pa sa isip.

Gone up. Now it depicts how this Great King can accept this kingship that the nations coronate Him, and He is exalted now from His previous habit that He had before He was coronated at the word of His creatures, this is the Mighty Kingship [המלכות העצום], to a different habit more exalted and uplifted than the first state! For the habit of God at this time will be sometimes by means of the name Elohim, which is at the times that He rules by the habits of nature. And sometimes it will be by means of the Tetragrammaton, and that is at the time that He rules by the miracles and the wonders; and this habit is because of Israel, and is called then in the name of "our King" or "our Rescuer", "the God of Israel", "the God of Ya'akov" [אלהי ישראל, אלהי יעקב], "the Holy One of Israel" and so on. But then these two habits will be lifted up and exalted with a great exaltation, for by means of this shout that they crowned Him with God is gone up, gone up in His habit with which He ruled by the name Elokim, for nature shall be changed then into a nature lifted up from its previous state, like it is written "behold I will create new heavens and a new earth" (Yeshayahu 65:17), which is to say His habit of miracles which is by means of the Tetragrammaton, that there will be miracles and wonders, and they will be more constant than the ones before, and it is explained by means that Elohim will go up in a shout.

The new heavens. I have already explained this expression (65:17).

We will write what the Sifre writes about the haftorah [verse], “let every valley be raised” [40:4]. When the Messiah will come, Israel will say to the Holy One: Lord of the Universe, we see before us the city in which we have committed sins. We are ashamed to look at it. The Holy One says: I will soon destroy it and remove it from the world, as the verse says, “every valley shall be raised” [40:4]. Each valley will be raised. Israel said to the Holy One: The witnesses, who testified about my sins, are the heaven and earth. I see them before me and I ashamed before them, since they mock me. The Holy One says: I will cause them to be destroyed, as it is written, “I am creating a new heaven and a new earth” [Isaiah, 65:17]. Israel said to the Holy One: my name is still known, that I have committed sins. The Holy One responded: I will change your name, as the verse says, “you shall be called by a new name” [Isaiah, 62:2]. Israel said: the name of the foreign gods is still found. The Holy One says: I will cause them to be destroyed, as the verse says, “I will remove the name of the Baalim” [Hosea, 2:19].23Sifrei, Ha’azinu, Piska, 306; Yalkut Shimoni, Isaiah, Remez, 445.
