וָאֶעֱבֹ֨ר עָלַ֜יִךְ וָאֶרְאֵ֗ךְ וְהִנֵּ֤ה עִתֵּךְ֙ עֵ֣ת דֹּדִ֔ים וָאֶפְרֹ֤שׂ כְּנָפִי֙ עָלַ֔יִךְ וָאֲכַסֶּ֖ה עֶרְוָתֵ֑ךְ וָאֶשָּׁ֣בַֽע לָ֠ךְ וָאָב֨וֹא בִבְרִ֜ית אֹתָ֗ךְ נְאֻ֛ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִ֖ה וַתִּ֥הְיִי לִֽי׃
At ako ay dumaan sa tabi mo at nakita kita, at narito, ang iyong panahon ay panahon na ng pag-ibig; at iniladlad ko ang laylayan ng aking balabal sa iyo, at tinakpan ko ang iyong kahubaran; at ako ay sumumpa sa iyo, at nakipagtipan ako sa iyo, sabi ng Panginoong Walang-Hanggan, at ikaw ay naging akin.
Ruth
And he said: Who are you? And she said: I am Ruth, your maidservant. Spread your [garment-] corner over your maidservant [i.e., take me as your wife], for you are a redeemer [(to redeem our inheritance, that Na'ami and I must sell. Acquire it, and me along with it, so that the dead one's name will be perpetuated thereby. When I come to the field (of the inheritance), people will say: This was the wife of Machlon.)]
Deuteronomy
A man may not marry his father’s wife, and may not expose the edge of his father’s garment.
