לָמָּה֩ יֹאמְר֨וּ מִצְרַ֜יִם לֵאמֹ֗ר בְּרָעָ֤ה הֽוֹצִיאָם֙ לַהֲרֹ֤ג אֹתָם֙ בֶּֽהָרִ֔ים וּ֨לְכַלֹּתָ֔ם מֵעַ֖ל פְּנֵ֣י הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה שׁ֚וּב מֵחֲר֣וֹן אַפֶּ֔ךָ וְהִנָּחֵ֥ם עַל־הָרָעָ֖ה לְעַמֶּֽךָ׃
פֿאַר װאָס זאָלן זאָגן די מִצרים, אַזױ צו זאָגן: צום בײזן האָט ער זײ אַרױסגעצױגן, כּדי זײ צו הרגען אין די בערג, און זײ צו פֿאַרלענדן פֿון דעם געזיכט פֿון דער ערד? קער זיך אָפּ פֿון דײַן גרימצאָרן, און האָב חרטה אױף דעם בײז צו דײַן פֿאָלק.
Targum Jonathan
Why should the Mizraee who are remaining say, It was for evil that He led them out, to kill them among the mountains of Tabor and Hermon, and Sirion and Sinai, and to destroy them from the face of the earth? Turn from Thy strong anger, and let there be relenting before Thee over the evil that Thou hast threatened to do unto Thy people.
