וַיְצַ֣ו פַּרְעֹ֔ה לְכָל־עַמּ֖וֹ לֵאמֹ֑ר כָּל־הַבֵּ֣ן הַיִּלּ֗וֹד הַיְאֹ֙רָה֙ תַּשְׁלִיכֻ֔הוּ וְכָל־הַבַּ֖ת תְּחַיּֽוּן׃ (ס)
Faraone poi comandò a tutto il suo popolo, con dire: Ogni figlio che nasce [agl’Israeliti] lo gitterete nel Nilo, ed ogni figlia lascerete vivere.
Targum Jonathan on Exodus
But when Pharoh saw this, he commanded all his people, saying, Every male child that is born to the Jehudaee you shall cast into the river; but every daughter you may spare.
