וַיֹּ֣אמֶר בֹּ֔עַז בְּיוֹם־קְנוֹתְךָ֥ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה מִיַּ֣ד נָעֳמִ֑י וּ֠מֵאֵת ר֣וּת הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּ֤ה אֵֽשֶׁת־הַמֵּת֙ קניתי [קָנִ֔יתָה] לְהָקִ֥ים שֵׁם־הַמֵּ֖ת עַל־נַחֲלָתֽוֹ׃
Quindi disse Boaz: 'In che giorno comprerai il campo della mano di Naomi—hai anche comprato di Ruth la Moabitess, la moglie dei morti, per risuscitare il nome dei morti sulla sua eredità?'
Aramaic Targum to Ruth
Thereupon Boaz said: "When you buy the field from Naomi you are also obligated to redeem from Ruth, the Moabitess, the widow of the dead, and you are required to marry her, in order to establish the name of the deceased over his possession."
