Kaisipang Hudyo sa Ezekiel 47:14: The Third Beit HaMikdash

The Third Beit HaMikdash

The verse states “You shall divide it as an inheritance, each one like his brother, as I swore to give it to their fathers.”5Yechezkel 47:14. The literal meaning of the words in the verse is “that I raised My hand,” i.e., raised My hand in an oath. Rav Yitzchak Abarbanel explains that this verse is teaching that the tribes should not complain that the land is being divided in a different manner from how it was divided originally. With the words, “as I swore to give it to their fathers,” Yechezkel is explaining that God did not swear to give the land to those who originally inherited it. Rather, God swore to give the land to the “fathers,” i.e., the Patriarchs, Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov. Hence, all the tribes have an equal share in their heritage, and all the tribes will receive an equal share in the Land.
